Frankly, smoothies should be good. But they’re not, at least not when you buy them at the store. So often, they have ice cream, fatty yogurts, and otherwise things that are not what you would consider when you think of a “fruit smoothie.” Frankly, unless you make it at home, you don’t often know what is going in there, and it isn’t fruit for the most part, which is why when you’re on a liquid diet, to lose weight, they restrict your use of smoothies. But if you make it at home, you can exercise better control over it. For example, you can actually use real fruit. But you can also mix protein powders in there for better health, you can use rice milk or soy milk instead of the whole milk or ice cream often used there. You can take various steps in other words, like avoiding putting extra sugar in there, that can help you to deal with everything you need to deal with and avoid having to deal with all the weight gain that would come with drinking smoothies you find at a local smoothie shop. It is easier to be sure, however it is certainly not healthier for you.
