The Definition Of Metabolic Syndrome - September 8th, 2009

They call it metabolic syndrome, and they say it puts you at greater risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.  I’ve heard about a vaccine for weight loss, and frankly, it came down to a hormone that was aggravated and activated largely by unhealthy eating habits.  When you eat fat and otherwise all the time, it gets stronger.  When you diet and exercise, it basically goes away.  So that’s not exactly some genetic disease or anything, that’s bad or good eating habits and exercise or lack thereof.  This being said, apparently metabolic syndrome is likewise treated by reducing your total calories, eating regular meals, and eating more apples.  Well I would say eating more fruits and vegetables in general would about cover it.  But it’s basically yet another fancy way of saying that if you have this disorder, chances are you aren’t eating right, you’re eating too much fat in general, and you aren’t really exercising the amount that you should.  All of those habits put you at high risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.  It’s realistically a quite simple fact of life.  So this is one potential excuse that seems to be eliminated at this point in time.
