It’s called the Life Choice Diet. It is basically a vegetarian diet that tells you to seriously cut down or even eliminate your fat content, and frankly I would say it’s unhealthy and unreasonable. It’s one thing to go on a vegetarian diet. Yes, you are cutting out one major food group. But at the same point in time you’re not. The main thing about meat is it provides a lot of protein. You can get protein from other sources. But with no fat at all, that’s not a good thing. Your body actually needs a certain amount of fats, both good and bad, to function, to maintain certain cholesterol levels, and to lose weight. So you are in so many ways actually sabotaging yourself. So on the Life Choice Diet, they essentially say that you should eat high fiber grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, nonfat dairy products, egg whites, and otherwise. This is all good. However, the problem is when they tell you that you should cut out meat and all animal products(well this part isn’t really the bad part, it’s more the concept), caffeine, nuts, seeds, olives, chocolate, coconut, avocado, and oils. Frankly a lot of those things such as olives and olive oil are highly recommended for really healthy and effective weight loss plans. Cutting them out along with other fats might help you to achieve weight loss at first, but eventually you will plateau and you won’t be able to get past it without breaking this diet. In fact, most people really can’t stay on this diet for long, because it’s frankly a fad diet and it’s completely unreasonable.
