Thinner Thighs Are A Risk - September 4th, 2009

I love the idea of fitting into skinny jeans.  My grandma, as much weight as she gained over the years, always had the skinniest best legs, and I was always envious.  I did not inherit that particular trait, as I did not inherit quite the small height that she had.  But that being said, I consider my legs to be a trouble spot.  My thighs actually grow and shrink with the rest of me, but my calves are more of the larger variety, and I hate it.  But apparently, it’s not the calves that really matter in your health, but the thighs.  Whoever thought being skinny would be a bad thing right.  But apparently, those with the smallest thighs have a significantly higher rate of heart disease and other problems.  If they measure less than 60 centimeters or 23.6 inches in circumference, you are at greater risk according to the British Medical Journal.  I have yet to figure out the whole logic of it.  But realistically, the studies have over and over again actually reflected this apparent fact.  So who knows what to really make of it.  Either way, I would still take skinnier calves, and unfortunately that would be one area that would actually take lipo.  Even with the best exercise, you really can’t exercise that away for some reason and I don’t’ particularly like just filling it up with more muscle.
