Using A Pedometer - September 4th, 2009

A pedometer has been my key to some greater success.  I swear I always forget to set the weight thing on my machine, and I like to know how many calories I’m burning to balance that out with my daily diet.  However, if you want to use a pedometer, it would definitely be a good idea.  Basically speaking, a pedometer is a little machine you can carry around with you that counts how many steps you take.  I can estimate that out on a computer later to see how many calories I’ve burned that day and figure out on a daily basis how many I can expect to take if you consider my averages from past days where I’ve essentially been doing the same thing.  There are some outlets that offer really cheap or even free pedometers depending on where you go.  But I would be wary to some degree of those that offer it for free.  Nothing comes for free, and in some ways there is always a catch of some type.  That being said, you should also focus on the speed at which you are taking those steps. Speed your step up a little bit throughout the day, and that will make a significant difference in your actual calorie and fat burning abilities in general, and it will make a bigger difference in your weight loss than many other methods you may have used in the past.
